Radio Paradise sounds good to you? Radio Paradise is a blend of many styles and genres of music, carefully selected and mixed by two real human beings. You’ll hear modern and classic rock, world music, electronica, even a bit of classical and jazz.

What you won’t hear are random computer-generated playlists or mind-numbing commercials. Just like the good old progressive FM radio stations, but not stuck in the past – at least this is what they claim! Go check it out for yourself, you’ll find it on your STREAMIUM via the search function.

Festival Season Round-Up – April

Time to secure your tickets for the upcoming festival season… they will sell fast! We’ll do our best to keep you updated of all festivals for each month.

• First one up is Coachella Music and Arts Festival from the 15^th of April. Sorry to break the news to you, but this one is already sold out. No surprise, the line up is awesome! Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, The Strokes and Duran Duran… oh well. Next year then!
• Next in line we have the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, USA on the 29^th of April. The Gaslight Anthem, Motley Crue and Lil Wayne are the top of the pops, and the ticket situation is still manageable. Check their website for all details and on how to get tickets.
• For all Europeans amongst you: there are still tickets available for the Rockness Festival in Dores, Scotland, UK. Kasabian, Paolo Nutini and The Chemical Brothers will be headlining on Friday 10^th, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th June. Mark Ronson will be playing one of his world famous DJ Sets as well as Erol Alkan, DJ Yoda, Optimo and Simian Mobile Disco.

Our favourite Travel Blogs

Time to get out of your trusted neighborhood and see the world. We wanted to check out some great travel blogs for you this time.

One of the really good ones is Globespotters by the NYTimes. With themes like the gentrification of Mumbai’s western sea front and its vast swath of the resident flamingos or the London Antiques Fair in Chelsea… their reporters are all spread all over the world, bringing the coolest events straight to you via their blog.

Another classic: Lonely Planet! This Travel Guide has been an inspiration for people for many, many years. They document various things… the picnic culture in Turkey, recommendations for first-timers that travel to Hawaii or Tattoo-tourism all over the world.

If you’re someone who prefers a trip to be planned out to the core, this is the perfect website for you. You can also go to your local book shop and purchase the Lonely Planet Hardcover books.

Show of the Week: Steve Lamacqs Round Table.

Steve Lamacq of BBC 6 is a true radio legend. He is probably the most competent person in the world when it comes to Indie and Alternative music that is not mainstream.

And now check this: his show, The Round Table, has the concept of him inviting guests and discussing all the hot, new indie releases. You should really tune in, it is amazing! The show is next broadcast on Thursday, the 17^th of March at 6 pm GMT and its a weekly programme, so in case you miss it this week, you can always just tune in next thursday!

Plus the BBC offers the lovely service of a Steve-Lamacq-Podcast which is available for full seven days after the show. You can also catch the guy weekdays from 4 – 7 pm GMT on BBC 6 Music, when Steve plays new and classic tracks from established artists, young groups and unsigned bands. Also make sure you follow the @Lamacqshow on Twitter while you check him out on your STREAMIUM.

Formula One: Australian Grand Prix

Formula One motorsport comes to the Grand Prix Circuit by Albert Park in Melbourne. As many as 300,000 fans come to watch the practice and build-up to Sunday’s race from the 24^th til the 27^th of March.

The next few stops of the Formula One truck are Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from the 8^th until the 10^th of April, Shanghai, Turkey and Spain. If you fancy taking part, make sure you book your tickets now!

And here’s a few last minute  news for you: McLaren are hoping that last-minute upgrades to their 2011 car will bring an improvement of up to one second per lap at this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix.

Lotus have announced Karun Chandhok is to join the team as reserve driver for the 2011 season. Chandhok, who made 10 Grands Prix starts last year for HRT, will make his first appearance for Lotus this weekend during Friday’s practice session for the Australian Grand Prix.

Station of the Week: Van the Man Radio

Van Morrisson – absolute musical legend – has his own station dedicated to him. He was  born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1945 and has had an amazing musical career, including several Grammy nominations, 2 Grammy Awards in 1996 and 1998 for Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?” with The Chieftains and “Don’t Look Back” with John Lee Hooker.

Someone did love him enough to build an entire station around him. To be fair, the website could do with improvement, but the stream works just fine!

Station of the Week: FC ST. PAULI FM

The first ever Bundesliga Webradio has started! This is actually pretty sensational. FC ST. PAULI FM is the first ever web radio station for a Bundesliga club in Germany and it has been broadcasting for just over three weeks now.

Fußball-Club St. Pauli is a German sports club based in the St. Pauli quarter of Hamburg, which became famous all over the world with fanclubs in almost every country. Their logo, skull and crossbones, represents their culture as well as the left wing attitude of the club and their followers which is based on the punk culture that emerged in the 80’s in Hamburg as they didn’t conform to the rest of European soccer that was mired in racism and violence. St. Pauli took the progressive path, launching anti-racism and anti-homophobia campaigns years before other clubs followed.

They have four streams to choose from: The main station represents the neighborhood St. Pauli with Alternative, Indie, Hip Hop and Rock. The other three streams cover the genres Electro, Celtic and Punk.

Our favourite Morning Shows

Don’t we all know this? The alarm goes off, one foot goes out of bed and the hand flicks on the radio. Radio has been helping people to get out of bed for decades, and we thought we’d give you the service of our favourite morning shows.

Super famous and legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles surely has to be named. This guy never fails to be in a good mood, weekdays from 6:30 h to 10:00 GMT.

Chris is a true radio legend for all Brits, he started his radio career at the age of 16 on Aire FM in Leeds and over the following six years worked his magic on several other stations including Radio Luxembourg and London’s Capital FM. In 2004 Moyles took over the Radio 1 Breakfast Show from Sara Cox, officially becoming the saviour of Breakfast Radio.

If you’re more of a serious morning person, you should tune into Morning Edition. It is an American radio news program produced and distributed by National Public Radio (NPR). It airs weekday mornings and runs for two hours. Catch the live-feed from 5:00 to 7:00 ET. This show premiered in1979 and has been running since with very successful rates.

Another great way to get up is to listen to The Morning Mash Up on SIRIUS XM. A real classic with an amazing team of hosts. Tune in and listen to Rich, Ryan, Stan and Nicole.  Hang with them weekday when you wake up, on SiriusXM Hits 1 & 20on20!
