All you need to do: update your device with the latest software upgrade, and download the App on Apple AppStore or Android Market by searching ‘Philips Myremote‘, and you are good to go.
It functions by transforming your iPhone / iPod Touch and Android device into full-featured remote for the latest Philips networked AV systems. After download, the app will detect any Philips Streamium audio system on the same Wi‐Fi network, providing you with full, instant control over it from anywhere in your home.
If you have more than one Philips AV system on your home network such as Blu‐ray player or Home theater system, the remote App will allow you to control each one independently, without interrupting playback. Key capabilities:

Here is what the folks at Pocket Lint has to say about our connected audio device:
… The speakers are encased in 18mm extruded aluminium and Philips tells us that all this has a purpose. The positioning of the tweeter and driver is to create a wider soundstage, eliminate the sweetspot and so on. We can’t help thinking that the distinctive design is to stand out from the sort of typically-boxy speakers you’ll find elsewhere, although the claim of room filling sound does ring true and the MCi900 does sound magnificent.
Central to the MCi900 are two component units, which can be stacked, or sat side-by-side, connected via a cable on the rear. Although a “component system” we can’t see any real opportunity to expand beyond the supplied pieces in the system. The two units connect and beyond that the only other dedicated audio input you have is an aux stereo input. But it isn’t quite as simple as that. As part of Philips’ Streamium range, it also offers a range of connected features, so is well suited to the progressive digital home…

This website is a fantastic tool to personalize your STREAMIUM.
You can simply log on under here, register your STREAMIUM device and start customizing your listening experience. You can save your favourite stations, add MP3’s from your favourite blogs by copying the URL of the track and saving it to your Club Philips ‘My Media’. This means you can create your own playlists from all those great tracks that are out in the world wide web and listen to them via your STREAMIUM at home. How cool is that?
Once you registered your product, it updates automatically your favorite stations with your Club Philips account – no matter if you add your stations online or on your device. And of course, there is a lot more to find out on.

Remember this post back in March 2010 introducing the Streamium MCI900? I wouldn’t be surprised if you still remember quite clearly – how can you forget such intriguing design?
With that in mind I thought I’d revisit that post and answer what most of you probably have in mind upon seeing the device for the first time: What is that coming out of the speakers? Let’s have a closer look!
WHAT? First of all, let’s clear things up: the two ‘things jutting out of the speakers‘ are called ‘tweeters‘. In fact all speaker box has tweeters, but just not this way. They are designed not just for aesthetical reason, but actually to enhance your audio experience! Gone are the days of traditional speakers with its tendency to distort instruments’ sound, making music seem flat, narrow and tight.
BUT HOW? In short, these uniquely positioned tweeters plus the woofer create audio crossover that minimizes interference and produces a more natural sound. Since the tweeters float outside the speaker box, sound radiates in all directions to give a deeper, wider sound impression – just like a live concert performance or in a recording studio! Imagine this, which type of speaker would fill a room with sound better, a normal 1-sided flat speaker box or a speaker in the shape of a ball which has almost 360 degrees coverage?

Your favorite Streamium network players – NP2500 and NP2900 now support seven languages, including Russian – which was recently added. Also, you can now playback FLAC/MP3 files with album art size upto 150 KB. (Earlier this limit was only 50 KB).
And how can we forget – you will now be able to stream JPEG photos with size upto 10MB using NAS and your windows media player ! So enjoy.

Here’s something for all our users interested in Denmark radio : Your MCi500H will now be able to play internet radio stations from Denmark, in addition to all other stations that it already plays. So whether or not you are in Denmark, you will be able to enjoy your favorite radio now !
Also, the volume settings have been changed to be able to set to as low as the users wanted.
