This website is a fantastic tool to personalize your STREAMIUM.

You can simply log on under here, register your STREAMIUM device and start customizing your listening experience. You can save your favourite stations, add MP3’s from your favourite blogs by copying the URL of the track and saving it to your Club Philips ‘My Media’. This means you can create your own playlists from all those great tracks that are out in the world wide web and listen to them via your STREAMIUM at home. How cool is that?

Once you registered your product, it updates automatically your favorite stations with your Club Philips account – no matter if you add your stations online or on your device. And of course, there is a lot more to find out on.

All about NAS

Ever heard of the wonderful technology device called NAS? NAS or Network  Attached Storage is nothing but a hard drive where you can store data. The special thing is that a NAS drive is able to connect to your wireless network at home through a router. This allows all your computers, laptops or streaming devices (like Streamium) to access the files or music fom your NAS drive, wirelessly. The New York Times recently carried out an interesting story on what all to consider while shopping for a NAS drive and different options available in the market.

RIP your CDs, bring on music streaming

Everything is cool about music streaming, with the ever so convenient access to all the music you want. But what about the gazillion CDs lying in your closet? Now either you can play your CDs on your hi-fi system that can also connect to network and stream your PC music and internet radio. Or, you can simply copy all your CD songs on your PC (which is called “ripping”) and stream away to glory on your music player, e.g. Streamium.

Here is a quick tutorial by Tutcity.com on how to “rip” your CDs using the windows media player. It is as simple as inserting your CD, selecting format and quality from rip settings and clicking on the “Rip CD” button in the now playing mode. If you rip while connected to the internet, you can even add information about artist and title to all the tracks.

So rip your CDs and let let them R.I.P, as music streaming is the way to go !

Music Streaming from PC with Windows Media Player

Did you know you could stream music from your PC with a windows media player?

To do that, all you need to do is to activate the content sharing to be able to share your music. This is how:

1. Open Windows Media Player, go to Library > Media Sharing:

2. Tick the box “Share my Music” and click on OK.

Voila ! You can now play your PC music on your favorite streaming music player like Streamium.

What is Music Streaming ?

Most of the music today is digital, stored on your computer or mp3 player. After a long day at work, while working in the kitchen or taking a shower in the morning, you really want to enjoy your music at home. So what do you do?

• Listen to it on the computer, sacrifice on the quality of sound, stay in front of it, or turn the volume very loud to enjoy it in every room
• Dock your mp3 player on a docking station, listen to only a limited collection stored on your mp3 player, with no access to internet music
• Plug in your earphones, hold the mp3 player in your hand or pocket, and listen to it alone (not recommended in shower !)

Now imagine yourself playing all the music from your computer, CDs and internet on a cool audio device, wirelessly – magic, isn’t it?
