Time for a catch up on new releases!

Lady Gaga’s got something new up her sleeve for all her little monsters: Born This Way is scheduled for a worldwide release on May 23 and its gonna be huge! We can’t wait to see all the ideas for costumery, videos and last but not least songs by the GaGa.

Also Ben Harper, known for solid singer songwriter stuff, is forking out a new record. Give Till It’s Gone is coming out on the 17^th. It is Harper’s 10th studio album and he will immediately hit the road to support the disc and will headline a couple of festivals

Moby is also onto something good: Destroyed is available as of now and has hit the stores on May 16^th. He is touring from now until mid August, covering pretty much all of Europe. In case you want in on the action you better hurry!

Also released on the 16^th: Friendly Fires ‘Pala’ which had been announced all over the blogs for weeks now… these guys are touring as well, see their website for all the details you need to catch those hip Brits!

Festival Season Round-Up – April

Time to secure your tickets for the upcoming festival season… they will sell fast! We’ll do our best to keep you updated of all festivals for each month.

• First one up is Coachella Music and Arts Festival from the 15^th of April. Sorry to break the news to you, but this one is already sold out. No surprise, the line up is awesome! Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, The Strokes and Duran Duran… oh well. Next year then!
• Next in line we have the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, USA on the 29^th of April. The Gaslight Anthem, Motley Crue and Lil Wayne are the top of the pops, and the ticket situation is still manageable. Check their website for all details and on how to get tickets.
• For all Europeans amongst you: there are still tickets available for the Rockness Festival in Dores, Scotland, UK. Kasabian, Paolo Nutini and The Chemical Brothers will be headlining on Friday 10^th, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th June. Mark Ronson will be playing one of his world famous DJ Sets as well as Erol Alkan, DJ Yoda, Optimo and Simian Mobile Disco.

NEW RELEASES: Best Albums in September

Following a turbulent few months for the New York post-punkers, Interpol have announced that their self-titled fourth album will be released on September 14^th. They also have a european tour ahead, playing a few dates in France, Spain and the UK this autumn so keep checking in.

Also 80’s icon Liza Minelli is about to bring out a new album. Entitled “Confessions,” the CD is due Sept. 21 which is bang on in the middle of Liza’s tourdates in the US.

Another huge record for September is ‘Going back’, a cover album filled with Motown songs by Phil Collins. It is a tribute to the musical legends of his youth and there also is an exclusive limited edition available. Release date is the 10^th of September.

Kid Cudi too is ready to unveil his next musical offering. The rapper-singer-actor will release his sophomore album ‘Man on the Moon: The Legend of Mr. Rager’ this September. Guests this time around include Kanye West and Ratatat, as well as Band of Horses. The musical autumn is going to have something in store for everyone of you!

One more artist to watch is chart-conquering Brit Mark Ronson. In between DJ gigs and dressing snazzy, Ronson has been experimenting with stepping in front of the microphone for his third album ‘Record Collection’ due Sept. 28. He bagged a number of hip musicians for this album so expect great from this!

Mark Ronson just did a live session as a DJ last friday for East Village Radio which will be repeated during the week so check in with this station to catch Mark’s session of Hip hop, Remixes and a bit of Soul from last Friday. The show is going ot be repeated next Friday 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm ET.

TOUR OF THE WEEK: Iggy & The Stooges, Florence & The Machine, Black Eyed Peas

Two weeks ago we brought you U2 and Kings of Leon, and now Iggy and the Stooges perform the influential album Raw Power in its entirety at Moscow’s Milk Club this thursday before heading over to Stockholm for Sonisphere Festival next weekend. The band are now touring the album worldwide, 36 years after the original, disastrous tour and the release of Raw Power in 1973. The album was ranked number 125 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, so this is your chance to catch Iggy & the Stooges live!

Another band is riding high at the moment: after winning Best Album at the UK’s BRIT music awards in 2010, Florence and the Machine take their soulful indie rock on a trip  down under. This week they’ll be performing in Melbourne and Sidney several times before heading back to the UK.

Also the Black Eyed Peas are touring all across the US at the moment, celebrating the huge success of ‘I gotta Feeling’ which became the first digital download to pass the 6 million mark. If you wanna celebrate with them, get your tickets now.

Radio Station Indie 103 from Los Angeles brings you the best of old- and new school Indie via your STREAMIUM, with a focus on the English Indie Scene between 1970 and now, so you may expect a lot of Iggy Pop, the Smiths and Joy Division.

MUSIC NEWS OF THE WEEK: STREAMIUM presents album releases for July

July is a very hot month, and it’s not just the temperature that is rising:

Kylie Minogue’s new album ‘Aphrodite’  is out now in a number of territories. She is celebrating her dance-floor roots on the 11^th studio album. The first single to release was ‘All the lovers’ which ‘describes the euphoria of the album perfectly’ as Kylie states.

Another Dance diva is bringing out a new release: Kelis has just ended her marriage with NAS and is off to bigger and better projects. ‘Flesh Tone’ is coming out this week and the single ‘Acapella’ is a great house track that is bound to rock the clubs all over the world.

Also Big Boi, known from Hip Hop combo Outkast has a new project up his sleeve for you. ‘Sir Lucious Left Foot…the Son of Chico Dusty’ is releasing this week.

Another record you should have a listen to is the new M.I.A., coming out next week. There’s a lot riding on album No.3 called ‘Maya’. Next to Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Grime und Electro you will find thrashing punk sounds as well as concussive club stuff paired with political lyrics.

RELEASE OF THE WEEK: Christina Aguilera ‘Bionic’

Christina Aguilera’s highly anticipated album ‘Bionic’ is released this week. Christina is out to promote right now and paid a visit to talk show master Dave Letterman last week to perform ‘You lost me’ live on stage. It is her fourth full length studio album and she has gone back to her pop roots. For Bionic, she collaborated with producer Sia, Ladytron, Santigold, and M.I.A. and produced  a unique mix of many genres and styles of music.

Christina had to cancel her extensive US Tour this summer and postpone until 2011. She said she felt that she had to give herself more time to learn the choreography and concentrate on promoting the album instead. She had 20 shows planned in the US and Leona Lewis was meant to be the supporting act. So this means you still have a chance to get your ticket and watch Christina perform live.
